Machine Learning for Biomedical Applications- International EUGLOH Workshop in Hamburg

With the vision to create a supportive network amongst students and researchers working in machine learning relating to biomedical challenges and inspire international collaborations, University of Hamburg’s European University Alliance for Global Health (EUGLOH), together with Hub of Computing and Data Science (HCDS) and our Center for Biomedical AI (bAIome) organised a 3-day international workshop at the brand new Hamburg Center for Translational Immunology research center on the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf campus. Impulse lectures plus challenging project work in multi-omic data modeling, drug response prediction, clinical diagnostics from microscopy image analysis, and representation learning for multimodal images provided intense focus for the three days. A big thank you to our instructors who took time out of their busy schedules to create an exceptional learning experience: Lorenz Adlung, Thore Buergel, Patrick Fuhlert, Kristoffer Wickstrøm, Behnam Yousefi, & Marina Zimmermann. Thank you also to co organisers Ariane Hanrath & Katrin Schöning-Stierand for the great cooperation.
